During the extended weekend, many families and friends will gather for barbeques, picnics and a variety of activities. Folks that are interested in getting away from home over the holiday weekend are in luck because Fairfax County will have a number of exciting events occurring. Below is a short list of events taking place near Fairfax over the Labor Day Weekend.
- Fairfax residents don’t have to go too far for events close to home. Fairfax Station Railroad Museum will be displaying and operating the HO and N gauge trains on September 4-5. The free event would be an educational and laid back event for the extended weekend.
- Fans of local festivals should swing by the Herndon Labor Day Festival. The free festival will occur on Labor Day, September 5, at Town Green in Historic Downtown Herndon. Festival-goers can expect to see national and regionally recognized entertainers as well as wine tastings, gourmet food, a fine arts show and beer garden.
- Do you enjoy hot rods and classic cars? Visit Clifton on Labor Day for a chance to see new and classic cars at the Town of Clifton Car Show on Main Street. The free car show will also feature a traditional chili cook-off.
